A kid from Buffalo who just couldn't sit still.
Buffalo, New York — Early Years
The Kid Who Always Pushed the Boundary
Growing up in Buffalo, New York, Jeff Plevniak wasn't exactly known for playing it safe. He was the kid pushing his bicycle past its limits, exploring well past his allowed boundary zone, and coming home a little later than expected — because there was always something just a bit more exciting around the next corner.
His father, Ron — who Jeff affectionately calls "Jeremiah" — had a lot to do with that. A man who believed deeply that discomfort builds character, and that the hardest journeys make the best people.
"Then who's gonna carry me?"
— Ron "Jeremiah" Plevniak, mid-blizzard, Buffalo NYOne winter, the two of them hiked through a fierce Buffalo blizzard, snow drifts towering twice as tall as young Jeff. Exhausted and freezing, Jeff begged his dad to carry him. Feet back on the ground, they kept going — and at the end of that hike, a bowl of soup and a big cup of hot cocoa never tasted so good.
Jeff has never forgotten that moment. Not because it was easy — but because it wasn't. It taught him something no classroom ever could: you are more capable than you think, and the hardest journeys make the best stories.
Arizona — 1994 & Beyond
The Wild West Lit Him Up Like Nothing Before
In 1994, Jeff moved to Arizona — and the Wild West lit him up like nothing had before. Ghost towns hidden in the desert. Off-road trails with jaw-dropping views. Skydiving over the Sonoran. Snowboarding at the southernmost ski area in the United States. Helicopter flights through canyons. Motorcycle rides along backroads at sunset.
He tracked down small ghost towns like Jerome and Gisela in northern Arizona, and to the south, Harshaw, Duquesne, and even Lochiel on the Mexican border. He didn't just collect experiences — he became genuinely obsessed with the art of exploration.
All of the elements of adventure were right here in one place. And with every trip, the same thought kept surfacing: more people need to experience this.
The Career Years
Building Things. Seeing What's Possible.
Through a career that included helping stand up a new manufacturing facility for a global electric vehicle company and building a nationally recognized dealership service department, Jeff never lost that drive.
He learned what it takes to build something from the ground up — the discipline, the systems, the relentless focus on the person in front of you. But something kept tugging at him:
"There are so many people who want to experience the world this way — they just don't know how to start, or they don't have someone to go with."

Tucson → Phoenix Valley → Colorado
From One City to a Growing Movement
Jeff launched liv1ce in Tucson, serving active adults in 55+ communities who were ready to get out and explore — but wanted someone to handle every detail so they could focus on living the experience. Word spread fast.
The Phoenix Valley followed. And now, liv1ce is expanding into Colorado, with a long-term vision that is — true to Jeff's nature — as big and bold as the landscapes he loves.
The mission has never changed: to be the catalyst for thousands of people to have the time of their lives, and to create memories and stories that last for generations.
Because at the end of the day, Jeff isn't just running an adventure company. He's in the business of living once.
